William Tham Wai Liang

William Tham Wai Liang is currently an Editor-at-Large for Wasifiri. He was born in Kuala Lumpur and left for Vancouver, British Columbia for university where he graduated with a degree in biochemistry. In Canada, he served as the Senior Editor of Ricepaper, a pioneering Asian-Canadian literary magazine, before returning to Malaysia. His novel, The Last Days, was published in 2020. 

As a biochemistry graduate, he remains interested in scientific and technical topics, in addition to literature and the humanities, while drawing inspiration from landscapes, the environment and history. His second novel, Kings of Chinatown will be published in 2022.
