Zerlynde Goik
Zerlynde Goik is reading Biological Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, after completing her A-Levels at Westminster School. Her first love is writing. At thirteen, she won a gold award in the Royal Commonwealth Essay Competition. She presently writes for magazines and newsletters in Cambridge.
Her debut fantasy novel weaves together themes of Asian identity in a Western world, the fragile threads of human connection, and the subtle yet powerful influence of politics and censorship on everyday life. Influenced by her upbringing in Malaysia, her scientific training, boarding school escapades, and the many stories recounted to her by friends and peers, she hopes her writing touches readers with its authenticity and wit.
She shares her work on Instagram and TikTok at @zer.flix and @writtenbyzer. When she’s not chipping away at her latest project, you can find her watching anime, writing fanfiction and drinking matcha by the bucket.
